TP1 Transformer Compliancy The Energy Policy Act of 2005, signed by President Bush on August 8, 2005, embodies numerous national energy efficiency product standards for NEMA products. Standards go into effect for low voltage dry-type (LVDT) distribution transformers manufactured on or after January 1, 2007. Minimum efficiencies have been established for each size of transformer, and extensive design, testing and manufacturing time has been spent to ensure each transformer meets or exceeds these efficiencies. A typical model will see a payback in three years at $.065 per kwh, compared to non-TP1 compliant models (non-compliantmodels will no longer be manufactured after January 1, 2007). |
